• Stimulate your body’s immune system.
• Promote natural self-healing.
• Relieve pain and tension.
• Support the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis.
Studies show that Reiki treatment may create feelings of:
• Peace.
• Relaxation.
• Security.
• Wellness.
Reiki isn’t specific to any particular type of disease or condition but may help people with:
• Cancer.
• Chronic pain.
• Infertility.
• Digestive problems.
• Parkinson’s disease.
• Psychological distress, including depression and anxiety.
• Stress-related illnesses.
• Reiki can also help you prepare for surgery, which may help boost your recovery afterward.

Reiki is

  • Convenient to use; a safe and simple practice of non-invasive gentle touch.
  • A built-in First Aid Kit and preventative self-care–absolutely economical and portable.
  • An adjunct to increase the effectiveness of other therapy.
  • A tool to accelerate healing on all levels: spiritual, mental, emotional and physical.
  • A practice for personal use, expanding your capacity for peace, love, and joy, empowering your personal development.
  • Compatible with all religions; free of dogma.
  •  Ongoing access to the life-force energy, assisting the body/mind in self-healing functions.
  • Balancing, relaxing, revitalizing; giving you a fresh start on your day. A ready source of relief from stress, fatigue and pain.
  •  Uniquely different with each use; the recipient absorbs the Reiki energy according to need.
  • Easy to learn. More than a technique, Reiki is a healing art: you continue to learn by practicing it.
  • An endless supply of healing energy that can be used as needed.

During a Reiki treatment, you are fully clothed. Your practitioner’s  hands rest for several minutes at designated positions on your head,  upper chest, abdomen and back, and also specific areas in need.

Reiki is a gentle touch therapy with specific positions placed on the body for short periods of time.  During a treatment a person may experience seeing colors, feel heat or cold sensations and even tingling in the body.  This is the ki energy that is within us all and it is moving within the body.  The body has a very keen understanding of what it needs aid in healing itself.  It is beyond our own wisdom and so there is a certain mystery that sounds this ancient practice.

Each country and each state create their own laws regulating the practice of Reiki.

In New Mexico, the practice of Reiki is governed by the “Unlicensed Health Care Practice Act,” House Bill 664.

The New Mexico “Unlicensed Health Care Practice Act” is designed to:

  • Protect people’s access to traditional, cultural, complementary and alternative health care therapies.
  • Protect the practitioner’s right to practice traditional, cultural, complementary and alternative health care therapies.
  • New Mexico is the 7th State to successfully introduce legal rights to unlicensed health care practitioners.
  • The "Unlicensed Health Care Practice  Act" statute is constructed in a way which allows traditional and  alternative unlicensed practitioners in New Mexico to legally practice  their healing traditions, as long as they stay within certain  guidelines. You can find more detailed information on the New Mexico  Complementary and Alternative Medicine Project website as well as the  legislation itself. I encourage you to read it – www.nmcaamp.org

Reiki (pronounced RAY-KEY) is a word derived from two Japanese  words: REI (The Universal Life Force) and KI (sacred energy). In the  1930’s, Hawayo Takata (1900-1980) brought this healing art (Usui Shiki  Ryoho-the Usui System of Natural Healing) to the western world. Her  teacher, Chujiro Hayashi, was taught by Mikao Usui, the founder. From  1980 to 2019, Takata’s granddaughter, the late Phyllis Lei Furumoto (www.usuishikiryohoreiki.com),  carried the spiritual lineage of the system. On March 15, 2019,  Johannes Reindl from Austria was recognized by Phyllis Lei Furumoto as  her successor and Lineage Bearer for Usui Shiki Ryoho.

“The Reiki method is not only for curing illness. Its true  purpose is to correct the heart-mind, keep the body fit, and lead a  happy life using the spiritual capabilities human beings were endowed  with since birth.”

–From the memorial stone of Mikao Usui, Founder of the Usui System of Reiki Healing.
